
Kirby Atkins
History and Social Sciences Faculty
Born and raised in De Queen, Arkansas, Kirby Atkins has served in internationally recognized schools in Brazil for nearly 10 years. He joins Thaden from Avenues: The World School in Sao Paulo, where he was a member of the Grade 6 project team teaching history, geography, religion, and philosophy and led the development of curriculum in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) for upper school students. Kirby holds bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and history from the University of Arkansas - Little Rock, where he was a scholarship student-athlete on their track and field team. He also holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from the Southern University of Arkansas.
