Jon Merz

Music Faculty

Jon Merz recently moved from Austin, TX where he taught modern band at St. Michael's Catholic Academy. As an assistant music teacher at Thaden last year, Jon helped lead instrumental ensemble classes and offered specialized instruction in guitar, bass, and drums. Mr. Merz is also a professional musician who spent more than 10 years touring North America and Europe with various bands and musical ensembles. Jon is originally from Southern Illinois and earned his bachelor’s degree in music from DePaul University in Chicago.
